Why a Digital Facilitation Toolkit?
The sudden transition to online learning has dramatically impacted the way we support knowledge sharing in adult learning. The world of learning at large had to rapidly reinvent itself, moving from a largely offline-mode, in which technology augmented learning, to an online-mode where technology is becoming as important as pedagogy. To cope with the constantly evolving training practices in online settings and to provide some clarity on the different dimensions of online facilitation, ITCILO, ETUI and IIEP-UNESCO designed and developed a public toolkit to support stakeholders on the design of online synchronous sessions.

The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) is the training arm of the International Labour Organization. Founded in 1963, IIEP is a specialized UNESCO institute that supports governments in planning and managing their education systems so that they can achieve both national objectives as well as internationally set global goals. IIEP develops sustainable educational capacity through training professionals in educational planning and management, evidence-based research and knowledge mobilization, and technical assistance to ministries of education and other institutions.
